The mailroom was closed saturday through monday, so if you've sent any dear elders to me, i haven't gotten them yet. But in a few days, Dear Elders won't mattter any more! I'm so excited!
Ok, here's my flight plans: we take off from Salt Lake City at about 8 40, and land in Portland, Oregon at 9 30. I'm assuming that's their time, because it doesn't specify which time zone on our flight plans. Then we go straight to Incheon and get there at 9 30 on Tuesday night their time. I'm time traveling into the future, kind of. :D
As to when I can call, it'll be around 11 a.m. on Monday, if we're an hour ahead of Portland. That's how I hear it'll work. If I'm actually wrong about the whole time change thing, I'll try to call as close to 11 as possible. If there are any more deductions on my debit card account, it's just me buying last-minute things.
I'm kind of nervous to go, actually. If I could speak Korean, I wouldn't be nervous at all, but this whole language thing is a big barrier. I guess I just have to have more faith in the Lord, and use that to replace my fear.
I finished "Jesus the Christ" by James E Talmage, finally! It was such a good book. Thanks for letting me take that old copy, Dad. I'm glad I could read it; it definitely changed my life for the better.
My companion and I built a gun out of a long cardboard tube and an elastic band, which we pull down the tube, load with small objects, and release to fire things really fast. We put dents in wooden doors thirty feet away, and a few elders have been dumb enough to let us shoot them with marbles. It's been pretty fun, and we call it the Dome Rocker. At the MTC, you've got to find ways to keep your sanity. :D
Austin, how's the theatre going? When do you perform? Are you super busy all the time now that you have two things to rehearse for? make sure you keep on doin' your best with those grade thingies. They're pretty important. Just remember to live it up, and enjoy every minute of it!
I think I have everything I need. If I forgot anything, I can get it over there. I'm sending a box with stuff I can't take/don't have room for.
I'm excited to call all of you! Maybe you could think of questions/things to talk about beforehand, since time is limited. We don't want to sit around going, "well, uh....how's life?" :D I know the Lord is with me, and I'm excited to go. The next email you get from me will be straight from Korea! I love you all!
